The app does not send your file contents, file names, or activity history to Code Refined. DriveBar has no advertising, analytics, tracking, or separate user account.
1. Overview
Code Refined develops DriveBar, a macOS app that displays recent activity observed in the iCloud Drive folder on your Mac. This policy describes the information processed by the app, our DriveBar web pages, and our support service.
The app operates locally. It does not use Code Refined servers to process your files or activity history, does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not sell personal information.
2. Information the app accesses
After you explicitly authorize access to your iCloud Drive folder, DriveBar reads information needed to display activity and availability, including:
- File names, folder paths, and file types.
- File sizes and creation or modification dates.
- Locally observed additions, edits, and deletions.
- File availability and transfer information reported by macOS.
DriveBar requests read-only access to the monitored folder. It does not edit, move, or delete the monitored files.
For files available locally, the app may ask the macOS Quick Look service to generate a thumbnail. That service may read file contents to create the preview. DriveBar does not upload these previews or file contents to Code Refined, and it does not request thumbnails for files that macOS reports as unavailable locally.
3. What is stored on your Mac
DriveBar stores a local inventory of file metadata and the latest observed activity for each file in its private application data folder. This lets the app keep useful activity information between launches. The interface displays up to 200 recent entries.
Deleted-file activity records are removed during normal history processing after they become older than 120 days. Other inventory entries remain as needed for monitoring. If a history file cannot be read, a local recovery copy may be preserved.
The app also stores a macOS security-scoped bookmark in its local preferences so it can remember the folder access you granted. This is a local permission reference, not your Apple Account password.
This app data is not transmitted by DriveBar to external servers. Copies may still be included in backups you configure for your Mac.
4. Apple services and iCloud
iCloud Drive synchronization is performed by macOS and Apple’s services. DriveBar does not run a separate cloud synchronization service and cannot access or manage your Apple Account credentials.
When you choose to open a file or reveal it in Finder, macOS and the relevant application handle that action. Opening a file stored only in iCloud may cause macOS to download it.
Apple’s services, including iCloud and the Mac App Store, are governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy information.
5. Information you send to support
If you email us, we receive your email address and any name, message, device details, screenshots, or other information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond to your request, investigate the reported problem, and provide support.
Support correspondence is handled through our email service provider and retained only as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable obligations. Please avoid sending passwords, Apple Account credentials, private documents, or unredacted personal information.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have sent to support by emailing support@coderefined.co. We will handle requests subject to applicable requirements.
6. Visiting these web pages
The DriveBar web pages on coderefined.co do not include analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or third-party embedded content. They do not require an account and do not contain a data-collection form.
Our hosting provider, Hostinger, may process standard technical request information, such as an IP address, browser information, requested pages, and request times, to deliver and secure the website. This is separate from the DriveBar app’s local file activity.
Clicking an email link opens your email application. Information is sent to us only if you choose to send the message.
7. Your choices and local data
You choose whether to grant DriveBar access to your iCloud Drive folder. You can stop monitoring by quitting the app.
The app’s local history, recovery copies, and saved folder permission can be removed from its local application data. Removing only the application may leave this data on your Mac. Contact DriveBar support for guidance if you want to remove it. Code Refined cannot remotely access or delete data stored only on your Mac.
Removing DriveBar’s local app data does not delete your original iCloud Drive files. Your iCloud files and their synchronization remain under your control through macOS and Apple’s services.
8. Updates and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes to DriveBar or its support service. The current version will be available on this page with its update date.
